General Information

The DFW Gaelic League primarily teaches classes in the Dallas area. Other locations are listed in the navigation menu as they become available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cost

Classes are usually free; however, individual locations may charge for meeting space. If a class carries a charge, that information will be listed for the class.

Materials

Depending on the teacher and the level of the students, the teaching materials vary by class and location.

Dialect

Traditionally the DFW Area has enjoyed more Ulster dialect teachers and students than any other. The Munster dialect (specifically Cork) is also well represented. Though some of our "old timers" (both students and teachers) favor Ulster, we have students and teachers of multiple backgrounds and dialects.

Native Speakers

Depending on the class/time of year/location we may have fluent guest speakers and teachers. The typical weekly classes are taught by long-time students of Irish. Immersion workshops and advanced classes tend to feature fluent and/or native speaking teachers where possible.
